One of the most numerous items collected during coastal clean up days are cigarette butts. Even people who diligently recycle their bottles, pick up flying bit of plastic wrappers seem to think it's OK to just drop their butts wherever they may be. They aren't just ugly, the chemicals contained within the filters easily leach into the environment, poisoning wildlife.
